Josiah Lodi is the Chief Director at the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs. He heads the urban development and planning directorate. He oversees the IUDF team and the overall implementation of the framework.

Nomkita Fani is the Director for Intermediate Cities and spatial planning. She is responsible for the implementation of the IUDF in intermediate cities through the intermediate city support programme. 

Stefanie Chetty is the Director for urban policy and management. Her role is to ensure that the IUDF is mainstreamed and aligned to urban policies to ensure successful implementation of the strategic goals of the IUDF

Litha Sirayi is the Deputy Director for urban policy and management. Her role is to ensure that the IUDF is mainstreamed and aligned to urban policies to ensure successful implementation of the strategic goals of the IUDF

Makungu Baloyi is responsible for the implementation of the IUDF communication strategic plan and stakeholder engagement. she also  manages all communication platforms for the IUDF
